The Pope’s Last Crusade, Cabo Celebration, Branching Out


Peter Eisner, author of The Pope’s Last Crusade weighs in on the selection of Pope Francis; the implications of the election of the first Latin American and the first Jesuit pope from a socially progressive nation such as Argentina, and what it means for the future direction of the Catholic church. The Pope’s Last Crusade tells the story of how Pope Pius XI enlisted an American Jesuit Priest, John LaFarge in 1938, to help him commission a papal encyclical condemning Hitler and the Nazis.
